City council okays plan for walkways New public hearing set for revamped OGP By JENNIFER LANG AFTER MUCH wavering, Terrace’s city councillors have decided ta back planner David Trawin's long-term plan for a river- side path on the eastern edge of town. The sidewalk and walk- way plan in the updated official community plan won't be changed, despite complaints from one river- side property owner. But councillors may go ahead-with a new plan to allow a five-year. grace period that would allow some northwest bench re- sidents to subdivide their - rural properties. ';. That “means the public will get another chance to comment on all of the pro- posed revisions to the Offi- cial Community Plan, the document that guides de- velopment in Terrace. '. Just two property ow- nezs — bench resident Brad Harrison and commercial property owner Glen Saun- ders:- complained about paris of the revised OCP, ~ Council recently defea- led-the proposed OCP up- ‘date bylaw, and last week agteed ta hold a second public hearing. Councillor Val George described both complaints as “matters of principle” that needed to be resolved before going ahead with the update. “This would be chan- ging the rules on people on very. short notice.
