V3C 2A8 Re: EAST SLOUGH PUMP STATION ENGINEERING DESIGN SERVICES Dear Mr. Yip: Further to your recent request we are pleased to provide you with this brief letter proposal for engineering design services on this structure. As you are aware, Associated Engineering has previously completed two assignments for the City in this area. The first assignment was the study of the drainage catchment for the East Slough. This study reviewed this catchment area to determine whether, following the completion of the Coquitlam River dykes, it would be necessary to instali a pump station to prevent drainage ponding behind the dvkes during periods when the Coquitlam River stage was high which could result in flooding. This study concluded a pump station was required along with improvements to the East Slough to enhance the storage potential of this water course. The second assignment was the design of the pump station which at that time was to - be located adjacent to the Greater Vancouver Sewage and Drainage District sanitary - forcemain. The design of this structure was combined with the design of floodboxes - for the B.C. Ministry of Environment to produce a combined floodbox/pump station ’ structure which would allow the City to realize cost savings during the construction - by reducing fixed costs such as contractor supervision, dewatering and mobilization. - Associated Engineering (B.C.)
