Brown Director of Planning Hawthorne Lcdge Development Variance Permit File No. 78/89 RECOMMENDATION: THAT the Clerk's Office be directed to inform surrounding neighbours of this application and place a resolution on a subsequent agenda of Council AND THAT Council approve amendment to the Land Use Contract regulating Hawthorne Lodge to permit.a six storey elevator shaft to be constructed beside the existing building. COMMENTS: This application is being presented to City Council because the property is regulated by a Land Use Contract. Drawings for the building form part of the L.U.C. and can only be varied by a Development Variance Permit. The proposed addition is minor, an elevator shaft. The addition will improve accessibility of the building, it will not provide any extra habitable space, but will provide extra amenity. Approval of the application is recommended.
