May 1, 1989/087 A regular meeting of the Municipal Council of the Corporation of The City of Port Coquitlam was held in the Council Chambers, Port Coquitlam, B.C. on Monday, May 1, 1989, at 7:30 p.m. His Worship Mayor L.M. Traboulay, Aldermen M.C. Farnworth, M.D. Gates, G@.R. Laking, W.W. Stewart and M.R. Wright in attendance. Also in attendance were City Administrator B.R. Kirk, City Clerk/Deputy Administrator R.A. Freeman, City Engineer T.M. Chong, and Director of Community Planning W.A. Brown. CONFIRMATION OF MINUTES: Moved by Alderman Laking: Seconded by Alderman Stewart: That the minutes of the Public Hearing and Regular Council meeting held on April 4th, 1989, be taken as read and adopted. Carried. SPECIAL PRESENTATION: His Worship Mayor L.M. Traboulay introduced May Queen Miss Amy French, Miss Port Coquitlam Marlyse Brugger and All Sports Queen Nicole Seney and then offered Council's congratulations and presented them with a City Pin. His Worship Mayor L.M. Traboulay introduced members of the "Stingers" soccer team and presented them with a Certificate of Recognition. DELEGATIONS: His Worship Mayor L.M. Traboulay introduced Mr. Tony Zipp; President and Ms. Lorna Mason, Director of the Chamber of Commerce who gave 4 short presentation on the Tri-City Map and Brochure. His Worship Mayor L.M. Traboulay introduced Mr. Tom Morton, Architect for the proposed Townhouse Project on Confederation Drive Development Variance Permit No. 21/89. Mr. Morton gave a presentation on the proposed development. Moved by Alderman Gates: Seconded by Alderman Laking: That City Council direct the Clerk's Office to notify surrounding property owners of this application and to place the following resolution on 4 subsequent Council agenda That City Council approve granting a voluntary development variance permit to Lot 13, D.L. 34, Group 1 NWLD Plan 79870 relaxing the requirements of the Zoning Bylaw No. 2240, Section 807 RM-3 Townhouse, Sections (6) and (8) Front and Rear Yards.
