until they are disposed of. We will obtain competitive prices

on this item, but precedents indicate the amount aforementioned,
for which I would seek. the mproval of Council. The area

provided will amount to some 800 square feet, plus installation
Of. racks to hold the bicycles.

Another item which I do not propose to purchase under the

Federal Loan Programme but which is required, is a sheer one
- inch blind to partition off the Watch N. C..0.'s office from
general viewing by the public. The Watch N. C. 0. jis the
office immediately adjacent to the public area and should not
be under the general scrutiny ofthe public from a security
and administrative point of view. I suggest that the amount |
of $70.97 necessary for the blind be allocated from general
‘revenue, rather than through the contract, as it will avoid
‘the additional markup. ,

3 The following items have. been approved by me, and I now
seek Council ratification for the administrative action taken.
These items. occurred as construction was in progress, and
_there seemed little alternative but to approve them and seek . -
‘subsequent Council authority. |. a -

. Change Order No. 34 concerned with the problem of drainage |
and a requirement for extra gravel required in the parking lot
‘to correct the situation which was not initially anticipated.
The amount of $143.00 is recommended for approval.

_ ' The other item concerns boxing in the duct work in the
- prtsoners'visiting area as this. constituted'a hazard wherein
“Items might be easily passed for prisoners or..left for them

‘to be retrieved at a later time. Cost - $325.00.

Lo One further item which will require approval, although I
- had not anticipated doing the.work at this time, is the
establishment of the sewer connection to the Pewdney Trunk
‘Sanitary Sewer, I think that by stretching the interpretation
of uses under the Federal Loan Programme, that we may be able
to finance this $6,000.00 item; rather than to wait to finance
-it out of general revenue next. year. I recommend that the
Council approve this allocation of funds, and that the work .
be done under the present contract, even though the connection -
