On Friday, January 6th, 1978 the GVRD is holding an all-day seminar
for the Boards of Directors of GVRD and the three other Regional Districts
in the Lower Mainland, and for Members of Council from Greater Vancouver
and adjacent municipalities. The seminar will be held at the Sheraton Villa
in Burnaby from 9 am to 2:30 pm. (This is notice of the seminar .that was
‘originally scheduled for December 9th, 1977.) :

The purpose of the seminar is three-fold: .

1. to introduce Board Members and Members of Council to the
present roles and functions of the GVRD :

2. to examine the: prospects we face in the Lower Mainland in the
1980's and their implications for Regional Districts and
Municipalities

to discuss together the role and structure of government in the
Lower Mainland prior to individually meeting with the Regional
District Review Committee | : ; : .

I invite you to participate in this seminar. It is the First of two
seminars planned on these topics. ‘The second is to be held in February,
at which time we expect to hear from experts from other areas. 1
look forward to your attendance at these seminars.
