A dog pack running
Tampant in Terrace,
killed three sheep
belonging to a local
farmer Wednesday af-
ternoon.

Emmett McCann
returned to his farm off
Eby Street to find two
sheep and his prize ram
torn to shreds by dogs.

Three other animals of
his were wounded, one
has a leg nearly torn off
and will as a result have
to be destroyed.

McCann and his wife
Joan were both shocked
and sickened at the
destruction. “I’m scared
right now, just
frightened,’’ he said.

MeCann, who owns 16
acres of the 50-acre farm
located within. the
municipality’s boun-
daries, had no idea who
the dogs belonged to.
According to him, the
problem of licensed dogs
running loose in the area
is a perennial problem
which needs to be solved.
He pointed out he had lost
three other sheep last
week in a similar attack,
but was unable to prevent
Wednesday’s travesty.
‘The dogs responsible for
last week’s attack were
picked up by the
municipality, to little
avail.

“What was I todo? The
owner pays 50 bucks and
they're out,” he com-

plained.
Immediately after
Wednesday's attack,

McCann alerted both the
municipality and the
RCMP who were quick to
arrive on the scene.
McCann had actually
arrived while the dogs
were attacking his stock,
and managed to shoot one
of the dogs. McCann who
says the whole thing is
“getting heartsickening”
; will now leave his) stock

Aside from the un-
settling sight of seeing his
