Several features of the draft Bylaw are distinct from those in other municipalities. These include the following: a) All personas employed in a home business must also reside in the dwelling unit. b) At least two off-street parking spaces must be provided at the dwelling. c) Home businesses shall be permitted in single-family and duplex zones only at thia time. Once the Bylaw is in operation and its performance may be evaluated, consideration may be given to permitting certain types of businesses in multi-family areas. Businesses that require regular visits to the premises in order to receive service or advice shall not be permitted. The intent ia to restrict occupations such as doctors, dentists, hairdressers and teachers that may generate considerable traffic. However, an occasional visit by a client for business purposes would be permitted. All other regulations are similar to or comparable to those in other municipalities. It ig recommended that the Bylaw Amendments in Appendix I be approved in principle and circulated to the Chamber of Commerce for further comment.
