For President JACK MOORE Upon discharge from the RCAF, and while employed in the log- ging section of the industry, Jack Moore became active on|IWA camp committees at Englewood and Bloedel. He was elected Secretary of the Alberni Plywood Sub-Local 1-85, IWA, in 1949 and in 1952 was named Financial Secretary of Local 1- 85, IWA, Port Alberni. He held this position until 1957, when he was appointed District Executive Assistant He was elected Regional 1st Vice-President in 1959 and 1960. He was appointed Regional President in 1962 when the former President Joe Morris was elected to the Canadian Labour Congress. He was also elected 1st Vice-President of the B.C. Federation of Labour. In 1962 he was elected President and Director of the Regional Council of the |WA, and holds that office at the present time. For First Vice-President JACK MUNRO Elected a Regional Vice-President in 1968 and elected again by ‘ acclamation in 1970, Jack Munro has been an active trade union of- ficial for over fourteen years. He was an officer of the |.A.M. before joining Local 1-405 |WA Cranbrook where he served the Local over the years as Business Agent, Second Vice-President, First Vice- President and finally President. Jack was also President of the Nelson Labour Council. For Second Vice-President WYMAN TRINEER Elected a Regional Vice-President in 1968, Wyman Trineer was also elected again by acclamation in 1970. He was President of Local 1-357 New Westminster for four years prior to joining the Regional Council. He had been a full-time officer of that Local since 1954 anda member of the Coast Negotiating Committee since 1968. He also headed up the last twosets of Negotiations in the Southern Interior. For Third Vice-President STAN PARKER A former officer and Business Agent of Local 1-85 Port Alberni, Stan Parker was elected a Regional Officer in 1970. He joined the IWA in 1949 and was highly active over the years as both Committee Chairman and Committee Member in the logging section of the in- dustry. Stan also held the position of President of the Alberni and District Labour Council from 1959 to 1964. For President DON POIRIER Dor’s first experience in logging was a sawmill camp in the terior in 1954, It was also his first insight into being organized and — : conversely into the deplorable conditions that prevail in bie | unorganized camps. In 1961 after five years in the Navy, Don went back into t industry at Franklin River as a Chaser. It was here that he witnessed his first fatal accident in the industry. “It is something that cannot be erased from memory!" This promoted a lasting interest and partici. pation in Safety work. q Don worked in several camps and regularly served on Camp Committees and in 1967 he commenced his present job at Beaver Cove as a boom man. Throughout this time, he has served as Camp — Chairman and is also Chairman‘ of the Englewood Logging Division Central Committee. Always an active unionist, Don attends delegated meetings both | on the Local and Regional level. For First Vice-President : JOE FOWLER Joined IWA in 1949. Worked in loggingand sawmills for 23 years. | Served as lst Vice-President and Business Agent, Local 1- 118, Victoria. Now a member of Haney Local 1-367. Employed as a head sawyer, Orion-Bowman, Chilliwack. For Second Vice-President | CY GODFREY : - Went to work for B.C. Forest Products (Hammond Div.) in | 1947 as a shingle sawyer and have been a member of the Haney Local, |WA since that time and have served in an active capacity \ on the Local Executive Board since 1967.
