During the recent pro- vincial election we got a whiff or two of this “Protocols of Zion” stench from some Social Credit spokesmen lament- ing the “modern frills” of our educa- tional system. Two short quotes from this British Israel literary septic tank will illustrate what we mean: “Again, through Zionist control of our educational system, they are causing heavy and useless expenditures for mod- ern schools (in which they will teach their false modern ideas) and equip- ment, school busses, etc., etc., which ‘ eause heavy and needless taxes on all the taxpayers; put our governments deeply into debt by borrowing from in- ternational finance’s financial credit agents, and on which loans we have to pay heavy interest charges on paper credits, unbacked by gold or any other wealth, as stated in Protocols (of Zion) 20and 21.” “We can, therefore, see that it is the Zionist propaganda which is causing in our ‘modern’ children and youth ‘juven- ile delinquency,’ lack of discipline and lack of respect for themselves, their parents, and for all authority.” All of which has a very recent and familiar ring in the B.C. political arena —-with British Israel giving its “super- man” racist interpretation of the shape of things it-would like to come, all neat- ly wrapped up in very unholy writ! Any decent publishing concern or anyone engaged in the -printing busi- ness, wouldn’t touch this kind of stuff with a ten-foot pole, no matter how badly the profits or dividends were fall- ing off. There are just some things de- cent individuals or business concerns (no matter what their race or religion) don’t do. Reprinting Hitler’s forged “Protocols of Zion” is one of them! Those publishing concerns who stoop to print the “Protocols of Zion” sland- - ers and forgeries for the profit that may be in it, commit a crime against human dignity and decency — against all the moral laws implicit in the United Na- tions Charter. It is bad enough to find another com- mercial advertisement in another Van- couver newspaper advertising a local automobile firm with a cheap caricature of Negro people. We have no doubt Black Motors has good cars and lots of spare parts, but advertising these is not enhanced by ridiculing people with black skins.. People like to laugh with and at each other—but not when the laugh is loaded with racist ideology. And we are sure Black Motors cars will run just as well if the firm’s advertising is lifted a few notches above U.S. Army “Intelligence” standards. The publication of these British Israel versions of the “Protocols of Zion” in Vancouver or anywhere else in Canada points up the need of a Bill of Rights to safeguard and advance the rights and privileges of all the many diverse peo- ples which make up this Canada of ours. A bill with strong sharp teeth in it, which will make it definitely unprofit- able for outfits like British Israel and their kind, or for grasping publishers, to flood a community with racist poison designed to set people of different races, creeds and colors against each other. The “Protocols of Zion” forgeries are a brand of poison which no decent com- munity of people can afford to either “forget” or “forgive.” A few years ago a Vancouver court gave one of these racist poison vendors three months in prison for peddling this Nazi filth. Simi- lar attention needs to be directed to the British Israel outfit and their publishers for a like offense. The issues in this federal election are vital and decisive for the future of our country. Reduced to their simplest terms these issues pose the allembracing question: Shall Canada’s independence, - resources, trade, wellbeing and peace continue to be subordinated to the war policies - of Yankee imperialism? Shall the great natural resources of our country continue to be handed over to Yankee monopolies by a shameless Liberal regime? Or shall the united votes of the people call a halt to this suicidal surrender of our heritage and sovereign rights and bring into being parlia- ment and government pledged to Put Canada First? The ‘people, in ever-increasing number, demand new policies. It is this growing demand for policies of peace and progress that is already compelling those who have sold Canada down the river to the U.S. war trusts to emerge now as the “champions” of Canada’s sovereign interests -—to speak now, as they have failed to act all these years, for trade, jobs, social security and peace. They are beginning to stiffen-up, to ‘‘talk back’’ to the Yankee war trusts and conspirators. This “‘penitence’”’ on the part of some Liberal leaders is welcome, if indeed belated. But we should not allow ourselves to be fooled by it while U.S. investments of $84-billion in Canada are permitted to dictate the domestic and foreign policies of our country. This federal election calls for the greatest united effort the Canadian people have yet made to restore Canada’s independence, prosperity and peace, to make our nation a leader in the sacred cause of world peace instead of a ready pawn in the deadly game of U.S-inspired war ad- ventures. The building in this election.of a great people’ s coalition for policies of peace can rout Liberal-Tory sell-out politicians on a national scale, as the people of B.C, have routed them provincially. Peace is winning A LMOST hourly, the world awaits that great decision from Panmunjom which will bring peace to war-ravaged Korea. For over two years these truce negotiations have been under way. And each time top U.S, brass, usurping the powers and authority of the United Nations, used some ob struction, trick or provocation to block peace and protract hostilities. Now, at last, the issue is in the balance again, with agreement reached on all questions and re- quiring only the signatures of the negotiating forces to bring the fighting to an end.’ Already that great hope has eas- ed East-West tension and streng- thened the growing realization that war settles nothing; that there is nothing in a world of diverge ideologies that cannot be settled by ‘peaceful negotiation. Doubtless there are those in the U.S., Canada and elsewhere, the people who reap rich profits from war and destruction, who are bad- ly disturbed at the early prospect of peace in Korea. Blocked in their war conspiracies by an ever- growing world movement for peace and the ways of peace, these war conspirators are already planning new war adventures to offset their losses through the possibility of peace in Korea. Peace in Korea not only means release of the Korean people from the horrors of war—an end to de- vastation and slaughter unprece- ‘dented in human history. It also means that with such a victory to their credit, the peace-loving peo- ples of the world can compel the war incendiaries to cease their mass murder in Burma, Malaya, Viet Nam and other areas of Asia and Europe, where millions of peo- ple are determined to win their own concept of freedom, self-gov- érnment and self-determination. Peace in Korea can mean the first great step towards restoring peace to the whole world. That is why the negotiations at Pan- munjom must not fail this time!
