Pynenburg Project Technician SUBJECT: UPDATE ON TRAFFIC CIRCULATION + MURCHIE/TUGHEY/ CLAYTON - REPORT FOR COUNCIL Attached is a previous report on background information, traffic volumes and comments regarding the traffic circulation in the Murchie/T vohey/ Clayton/Patricia. The latest submission by the residents of this area is a petition (see attached) regarding the installation of speed humps and stop signs. Mr. McGowan will represent the residents and present the petition to Council at their regular meeting of May 30, 1994. | Speed Humps As stated in previous reports the installation of speed humps will slow traffic down as it is a physical barrier and does not require law enforcement in order to be effective (see attached letter from. R.C.M.P.). However, as there are numerous areas in the city that have requested a reduction in speed zones and/or. speed control measures, it should be noted that the installation of speed humps in one area will result in requests from other areas. Local Improvement Program Therefore, it is recommended that should speed humps be approved by Counicl, the cost and administration of this should be based on the Local Improvement Program with a split of 90% residents and 10% City.
