Octoker 7, 1991/236 (d) Landscaping: Parking areas visible from a street, Jane or adjacent residential development should be screened with substantial landscaping, and interplanting of the parking areas with trees is required. Retention of mature trees to integrate into the overall landscaping is encouraged. All vegetation used for landscaping shall be mature and of a quality acceptable to the Municipality. All planting must comply with the standards of, or standards similar to those, of the B.C.N.T.As Ali materials, other than vegetation, used for landscaping shail be “non-skid” type and of durable quality. All landscaping fronting a street shall use trees whenever possible. Signage Not withstanding any provision of the "Sign Bylaw, 1985, No. 2095", ail signs and signage should be architecturally coordinated with the overall design of buildings and landscaping. Free standing signs may be permitted only when all. buildings In a development are set back at least 7.5 metres (25 feet) from a street. Free standing signs shall not exceed 2.4 metres (8 feet) in height. Implementation To facilitate implementation of these guidelines, any Development Permit issued for property within this Development Permit Area XI may, subject to the restrictions of the Municipal Act and unless otherwise specified in the above guidelines, vary or supplement the bylaws regulating zoning, parking, works and services, drainage, signs, screening, landscaping. and subdivision. Minor variations which do not change the intent of the guidelines may be permitted without an amendment of the Development Permit Area guidelines, subject to the approval of the Director of Community Planning.
