That the May Day ' Co-Ordinator be appointed in September with his/her term being from September to September. It is not a five or | Six month position. Froar experience, I Know that I get calls and mail year-round regarding May Day related business. The financial part of the May Day Co-Ordinator! 7 position is not as consequential as being able to go to the. department heads regarding year-round decisions or to con~ | | | tinue with spending of the budget, e.g. I have volunteers poe | } | | who are willing to make new may pole ribbons, which are , hadly needed. The estimated cost of these ribbons is | approximately $90 for two half sets. If the Co-Ordinator's 1 | | position was on 4 yearly baeds and if there was money still | | | in the budget, these could be made now when everything has | | slowed down, and be ready for the following year. Also, if oa this position was year-round, then the schools could be — contacted in September as to the weekend of May Day (their I honey Jo plans are well underway by January) for more school partioL.- | - a pation, e.g. band trips. The May Day office must be relocated because of its size, 7 the noise level, the difficulty in finding it. A méating should be held with the May Day Co-Ordinator and a ne | oo so department heads as to policy changes and for better co~ — | operation and expectations of what is expected of each group, | : especially with regard to the float. A clarification from ! | : City Council as to how they see the float as a promotion © : for the City or as a means of transport for our Royal Suite. | Continued... OR dat att Aah) isn My!
