A regular meeting of the Municipal Council of The Corporation of
the City of Port Coquitlam was held in the Council Chamber, Port
Coquitlam City Hall on Monday, October 29th, 1984 at 7:30 p.m.

His Worship Mayor L.M. Traboulay, Aldermen M.C. Farnworth, M.D.
Gates, J.J. Keryluk, G.R. Laking, W.W. Stewart and M.R. Wright in
attendance.

Also in attendance were Ci:y Administrator B.R. Kirk, City Cierk
R.A. Freeman, and City Treasurer J. Maitiand.

SPECIAL PRESENTATION:

His Worship Mayor L.M. Traboulay introduced Miss Ramie. Harrison,
Gold Medal Winner, B.C. Summer Games and presented a City Tribute in
civic recognition of her achievement. —

CONFIRMATION OF MINUTES:

Seconded by Alderman Stewart:

That the minutes of the Regular Council Meeting held on October
22nd, 1984 be taken as read and adopted.

Carried.

Hi worship Mayor L.M. Traboulay introduced Ms. Gayie Carter,

Customer Contact Manager, B.C. Telephone Co. who then mace a
presentation to Council regarding telephone rates.

Alderman Wright left the Chambers at 8:05 p.m.

Seconded by Alderman Keryluk:

That the Municipal Council! of The Corporation of the City of Port
Coquitlam advise the Canadian Radio-Television & Telecommunications
Commission they are opposed to the proposed B.C. Telephone Co. rate
increase; and that the Council! are concerned with problems with
service, restricted area of free service, and present extra cost of
Port Coquitlam telephones vs Vancouver telephones.

Carried.

Alderman Wright returned at 8:10 p.m. and took his place at the
table. :
