RE: Arnott-Kidd #2 Transmission Line

Tear Sir:

At a regular meeting ef the Municipal Cowmetil held on Nay 2éth, 1973 a

report cated May 24th, 1973 was received from the Wealth Comittee of

_the City with respect te your lerter dated April 26th, 1973 concerning the

above-noted subject stating that “Information kas new cere to the Committee
that the underrround price quoted includes the costs end penaities incurred
if contracts preeently Let for the overhead construction ere cancelled.
These cortrects apparently have heen let in spite of protests of the Muni-
cipalities." You will recall thet in your letter mentioned above it Was
stated that "an underscround routing would cost $14,250.00 compared to

$3,529,000.00 for the present contract.” ;

After giving due consideration to previous correspondence on thig subject
and te the report of the Health Committee, the Council passed the following

resolution:

“That as requested in a report from the Health Committee, Hay 24th, 1973, a
letter be written to the Minister of Lands, Forests end Vater Resources to
register our continued objection to the overhsed construction of the Arnott-—
Kidd #2 Tranemission through the Municipality of Delta in light of this
penalty situation and to obtain further information and a cost breakdown for
this project."

We trust you will take note of the comments made in the resolution quoted
above, and that we will be hearing from you further on this subject in due

course,
