REFUSE AND RECYCLING COLLECTION SCHEDULE September 1991 te August 1993 Port Coquitlam has expanded the refuse collection service to include multi-matesial curbside recycling using “see-through” plastic bags. The bags can be purchased al local grocery Stores or retail outlets. =, The bags are collected on the same day as your reguiar garbage pick-up. As with garbage collection the “Add-A-Day” system is used. See the calendar on the reverse side 10 help you determine your collection days. Some important points to remember: Place recyclable paper materials in a separate bag from other recyclables. Please set out the bags for collection prior to 7:30 a.m. on your regular weekly collection day Set out bags only when full. Use only “see-through” (clear or tinted) plastic bags for pulting out your recyclable goods. Ail bags must be closed and securely tied. Hotidays are circled and collection days are coloured. ; We ask you to help our collection personnel to work saiely and efficiently by observing the following: 1} Ensure that your garbage is placed out for collection prior to 7:30 a.m. on your ccllection day. 2) Use regulation containers: approved subber/plastic or galvanized iron materials circular in design with tapered sides 18" in diameter, with handles watertiph? 2-1/2 cubic feet capacity plastic sanitary disposal bags acceptable 3) Any single container should not weigh more than 75 Ibs., including container and contents. 4) Please do not place out: rocks, bricks, building materials, paint products, oil, ammunition, vehicle parts, pressurized containers (propane tanks), ‘res, animal waste, nails, sawdust, dirt, sod and/or ice stumps for collection. : ; 5) Regular collection service should not exceed the limit of 3 standard cans or their equivalent in volume (7-1/2 cubic feet per pick-up). 6) Containers to be placed by owner on the shoulder of the road or lane. Containers should be placed as to be conveniently handled from ground level ard readily accessible from street or lane. 7) Christmas trees will not be picked up unu} the 294 week of January. These regulations aze necessary for us to provide you with the most cf fective collection service possible. Household Hazardous Waste: Drop-off Depot at 15326-i103A Ave. in Surrey. B.C. Hazardous Waste : Corporation will take all houschold hazardous wastes with the exception of explosives, radioactive materials, bio-medical wastes (prescription drugs) and asbestos.
