SUBJECT: Changes to Chevron Servicing -
Public Works Committee - January 21, 1986

Recommendation

That the changes to the entrance to the Chevron Station as
required by the Department of Highways be allowed.

Background and Comments

Subsequently the developer drew a plan showing a sharp angle to
the driveway and submitted the pian to the Department of Highways
Which has approval rights because the Lougheed Highway is a limited
access highway. The Department of Highways has responded with the
attached letter and you will note that item # 2 specifically states
that the radius must be increased on Lancaster Street. The reasoning
behind this change is that the Department of Highways does not want
traffic backed up into the intersection as a result of vehicles having
a difficult time making the turn into the service station.
