4 June ist, 1981. Alderman Keryluk referred to the impasse in the Fire Fighters ' negotiations and advised receipt of an appeal fro the City's Tire Fighters for a helping hand. Moved by Alderman Keryluk: Seconded by Alderman Gates: That, assuming a settlement in the Fire Fighters' negotiations is not reached tonight, representatives of the twelve municipalities outside Vancouver sit down with representatives of the Fire Fighters to understand the problem and give direction to the Greater Vancouver Regional District Labour Relations Committee with a view to bringing about z settlement and avoiding a strike. Moved by Alderman Traboulay: Seconded by Alderman Wright: That representatives of the Graater Vancouver Regional District Labour Relations Committee be invited to meet with the Council regarding the Fire Fighters' negotiations. Laking and Alderman Wright expressed their appreciation to the May Day Coordinator and her Committee for a successful May Day and Alderman Wright suggested that Council give approval in principle to May Day being held in 1982 as it wili be the 60th May Day “and the Committee wishes to start planning fer it. Alderman Traboulay referred to the problens with dogs running at large in the City and asked that Mr. J. Homes of the §.P.C.A. be invited to meet with Council to discuss these problems. . _ Alderman Traboulay referred to the proposed light rapid transit and asked that a representative from the Urban Transit Authority be invited to meet with the Council.
