April 30th, From the City Administrator, April 30th, 1979 advising receipt of . . City Admin., a request from the Department. of Highways for a 68 sq. ft. portion of Apr. 30/79 re City-owned land City-owned land, from the lot described as Parcel 1, Sketch 7600, for the ~Kingsway consideration of $1.00; as the new alignment for the Mary Hill By-pass at the east end of Kingsway Avenue through the C.P.R. Underpass encroaches on this parcel. Alderman Ranger stated in his opinion access to the City-owned Property should be acquired now. Discussion ensued and Council agreed a Letter of Understanding regarding future access to the City~owned property should be acquired now so it would be on file for future development proposals. Carried. From the City Administrator, April 27th, 1979 advising that the City Admin., Apr. 27/79 re Budget By-laws for 1979 have been prepared for Council's consideration. Budget By-laws, Discussion then ensued. Alderman Mabbett stated it had been brought 1979. to the attention of the Leisure Activities Committee at their last meeting that a low-bed trailer is required for transporting playground huts. He further stated that the Public Works Department has a problem transporting the small road roller and a low-bed trailer could be used for this purpose. Alderman Mabbett stated that a low-bed trailer as required, could be purchased for the approximate cost of $4,000.00 aud recommended that a low-bed trailer be purchased, and that the Ald. Mabbett re Purchase of Budget By-laws for 1979 be amended to include this purchase, low-bed trailer Moved by Alderman Mabbett: Seconded by Alderman Ranger: That purchase of a low-bed trailer at the approximate cost of $4,000.00 be included in the 1979 Budget; AND THAT the proposed Budget By-laws for 1979 be amended to include this purchase, Carried.
