Tenant Bureau that Section 66° ‘of the’ Landlord and Tenant. Act requires that municipalities

establish a Landlord & Tenant Bureau.

‘That as “recommended - ‘in a report from the Building Protection Committes
October 2nd, “1973, the ‘Council herewith approves in principle the participa
tion in a Metropolitan Advisory. Landlord Tenants Bureau as ; presently opera-
ted by New Westminster , provided that cost. : Eactors and functions be deter-

mined and brought to Councit prior to final acceptance, Carried,

Prior to the question being called on the foregoing resolution, a dis-

cussion ensued and Alderman. Traboulay stated his. view that the City showld
establish its own Advisory Bureau, and Alderman Meyer made similar comments.
Alderman Thompson pointed out that it may be necessary to pay people to
operate a local advisory bureau, and expressed the opinion that the City

Bureau, the question of setting up a local Bureau be investigated. Carried.

Industrial Committee offered assistance to the owner in relocating his bus~
iness; however , the nonrconforming use of the premises stilj. exists, and

passed.
