The girls rocketed through the round robin portion of the tourney, turning aside four teams to end the round undefeated. Their first match pitted the girls against Abbotsford, but Terrace bats found their mark and the locals handed the southem squad a 12-4 loss. Next up was Quadra Is- land in a more defensive battle that ended in a 3-2 victory for Terrace. Then the Selects were up against Ridge Meadows in a hit-fest dominated by Ter- race, Who finally won 14- 11. The girls finished the round robin with a tight 9-8 win over Williams Lake. Jn the semi-finals, Terrace started with another 9-8 vic- tory, This time it was over Ridge Meadows, for their second win against thal club. Terrace received their first loss in a 9-2 trounce by a very strong Vancouver team. Bul they bounced back for a 9-2 win over Nanaimo and a trip to the final round. In the final match, the girls were up against Van- couver again — the only squad that had managed a win over the talented Ter- race team. And again Vancouver proved to be too much for the girls, who ended up with a 7-15 loss. Still, the girls’ second- place finish was an im- pressive feat for the club. They joined the local Bantam squad who also boasted a silver medal per- formance in Terrace on the same weekend. years of racing, and renew old friendships!
