After placing first in the round-robin, Kitimat took on Hazelton from the other section and beat them 8-1. Then Kitimat met Prince Rupert in the final and scored an easy 8-0 victory to take home the top prize of $1,700. Rupert won $800. Prince Rupert gained a final berth by downing Smithers 9-3 in the other semi-final, In the playoff for third and fourth, Smithers beat Hazelton 6-5 and won $450. The consolation final saw Terrace All-Stars - outscore Kitimat junior ‘B’ Blackhawks 10-6. Ter- race won $150; Awards were mostly split among Kitimat All- Stars and Prince Rupert, except for the most valuable player . honor ; tournament — which went to Hazelton’s Lou Parent. Kitimat’s Darryl Craft was high scorer with seven goals and seven assists. | Craft's .teammate Lee © Marleau -was selected as the most sportsmanlike player.
