Larry Stone, a motorcyclist, in- itiated the court action when he con- tested tickets he received in February for wearing a helmet that did not meet provincial standards. Provincial court judge Wallace Craig threw out charges against Stone and ruled in May that Section 218 of the Motor Vehicle Act is invalid.
