A successf tl attempt to ¢arry on a conversation from a given number in the city, was made on May 6th., by the Canadian National Railways. The op- eration was as simple as that a subse- riber would use in making a long dis- tance cnll and the conversation -was quite distinét, nso the train was trave- ling about twenty miles an hour at the time. The experiment took place outside of Toronto ‘ind was carried on while the train was proceeding for a con- siderable distance westward. The first call was put in hy TW. D.
