SUBJECT: Terry Fox Hometown Run
(August 29, 1990 Meeting of the Parks & Recreation
Committee)

Recommendation:

It is recommended that the City of Port Coquitlam assist the
Kinsmen by waiving all facility rental fees for the Terry Fox
Hometown Run.

‘It is further recommended that the City of Port Coquitlam make
every effort to accommodate all other requests, a8 outlined in
their attached letter.

Purpose/Problem:

The purpose of this report is to review the request for assistance received
from the Kinsmen regarding the Terry Fox Run and provide a
recommendation for consideration by the Parks and Recreation
Committee.

History/Background:

The Terry Fox Hometown Run has been set for Sunday, September 16,
1990. In the past, the City of Port Co uitlam has worked in cooperation
with event organizers to ensure that the “Hometown Run” is a success.
The proposed format for the event is similar to recent years.
Alternatives:

There are several alternatives available for the Committee’s
consideration:
