Sanitary Sewer Connection - Leigh Elementary School
(Public Works Committee Meeting April 25, 1989)

RECOMMENDATION:

That the request to connect Leigh Elementary School to the City's sanitary
sewer system be approved subject to the following: :

a, Consent from the District of Coquitlam is received.

b. Final verification that there is adequate capacity in the City's
sewer system to accept the expected sewerage flows from the School.

The cost of providing a connection to the property line of the
Schooi and subsequent applicable sewer rates be paid by the
School Board.

BACKGROUND AND COMMENTS:

The attached letter from the Manager of Facilities at the School Board
provides same background to this request.

The Councils for the District of Coquitlam and the City have, in the past,
granted approval of such requests to private properties located along the
municipal boundary. The Committee felt that Provided the aforesaid conditions
are met there is no reason why approval of this request should not be given.
