‘We are planning to analyse the information from the survey
(as well as other information we are gathering this summer) this
fall. On the basis of this analysis we will be drafting ‘a
preliminary report on recycling in the two municipalities. We
hope to present this report to your committee for discussion and
modification, before ve publish it or present it to Council. We
hope to be able to bring this matter before you in ate :
September.

Two of our staff had the opportunity of attending a major
international conference on recycling at U.B.C. last week. I have
‘asked them to prepare a summary of relevant materials avaitable
at the conference. I will be forwarding this summary to all
members of council for their information. I feel that this type
of continuing sharing of information is important if our
community is to play a leading role in promoting resource
recovery through recycling in our sociaty.
