1. Uniform Dog Licence Fees

At the last meeting of Council the Environmental Protection Committee reported
that the Administrator would be meeting with Coquitlam and Port Moody to discuss
bringing into uniformity the present licencing and pound fees.

A meeting was held on Tuesday, March 16th, 1976 and the question of fees was
discussed. I have attached a summary of the fees charged in each municipality
and at the bottom of the listing is a suggested uniform rate. Coquitlam Council
has already approved this rate subject to approval by the other two municipalities
and the Port Moody Administrator advises that it will be dealt with by his

Finance Committee on the 22nd of March.

Council will recall that there was a considerable increase in the proportion of
the S.P.C.A. Budget to be paid directly by the municipalities. The increase in
these rates should help to offset the direct contribution by the municipalities
for the future and I would recommend that the proposed schedule of rates be
adopted, subject to adoption by the other two municipalities.

The §.P.C.A. Incinerator was discussed and the Administrators have asked
Mr. Homes for his recommendation on the type of machine being purchased. When
these comments are received, a report will be forwarded to Council.

2. Conference Approvals

I have received a number of requests for Council approval for Conferences:

Recreation Director: The Recreation Director has requested authority to attend
the B.C. Recreation Conference in Victoria from April 28th to May 2nd. Janna Taylor
has generally attended this function in the past.

Licence Inspector: Mr. Criggie has requested authority to attend a Seminar and
Workshop in Kelowna, June 23rd to 25th, being put on by the B.C. Licence Inspectors
Association. Mr. Criggie is the Vice-President of this Association and has attended
these Seminars in the past.

Building Inspector: The Building Inspector has requested authority to attend the
1976 Conference of the B.C. Association of Building Inspectors on May 5th to 7th, .
1976.

I would recommend that the above Conferences be approved with expenses.
