Is at home at full- back and can also play spot of goal. Was member of Van- couver City’s Canadian champs. Doug Greig — Halfback: Age 28; Height 5’ 11”; Weight i65. Playing first full season at left half. Previously play- ed at inside -forward. Has one of best shifts in league and possesses one of the hard- ect shots. This is his sixth time on All-Stars. Played against Aberdeen. Doug’s fa- ther was one of the top for- wards in early twenties while playing with St. Andrews. Doug switched to Westmin- ster Royals when Firefighters disbanded, Gordie Ion — _ Forward: Age 21, Height 5’ 10”; Weight 160. Although this is Ion’s fifth time as All-Star, it’s his first attempt at right wing. Best effort was against tour- ing Irish All-Stars when he scored penalty to give B.C. 38-2 win.. Was sought after once by Tottenham Hotspurs. Rejected offer in favor of tak- ing up trade as electrician. Brian Philley — Center; Age 29, Height 5’ 10”; Weight 165. One of the league’s top playmakers. Has performed at inside forward but prefers te play center. Is firm be- liever in interchanging posit- ions during attack. Fifth time as All-Star. His goal against Trish All-Stars was thing of beauty. Considered - one of minor sports top _ boosters. Presently with Halecos. Gordon Stewart—Forward: Age 27; Height 5’ 7”; Weight 166. Another automatic choice for All-Star team. Is making eighth appearance. Played against Aberdeen. Only miss came in 1954 when he was in England playing with Ever- ton of English ‘League’s first division. Can play either in- side forward positions and left wing.
