Info centre plan on hold THE FUTURE’s uncertain for the Chamber of Commerce’s Tourist Info Centre on Keith Ave. Their most recent plans for an addition to the building were turned down by the ministry of highways because the addition would have been an obstruction to highway visibility, according to chamber president John Evans, The chamber wants to find a way to amalgamate its business informalion centre and tourist info centre in the same building, and safe staff costs, he said. The land the building is on is owned by the ministry of high- ways, Although the chamber has a [case good until 1999, they could be asked to vacate on six months natice. That bhasn’t happened so far, Evans says, and the chamber is going to re-evaluate its options, They'll probably try to find a new home for the business in- formation centre or fit it into the existing tourist info centre. Evans said the highway- frontage location of the tourist info centre is a good one, Also departing from the info centre is employee Debbie Vant ' TERRACE.
