The opening game Thursday was a close one all the way, as Skeena Hotel had built up a slim 39-37 lead at halftime. It didn’t hold up though, as All Seagons put on a bit of a second half spurt to take the game 84-83. Mike Ireland spearheaded the All Seasons altack with a “tremendous 42 point effort, while Tom Marvin scored 23. Jon Gurban led Skeena Hotel with 38 points, while Joe Procopehuk had 20. Terrace's lop scorer was Dave Crawley, who had 23 points. in Sunday's action as well, it was the Terrace Dark Blues who got off to a fast start, and at one point early in the contest led 10-4. Houston gradually came on after that, and held a slim 31- $0 lead at halftime. They just got stronger inthe final half, outscoring Terrace 43-39, to win the match handily, 78-71. The duo of Rod Kluss and John Brown again paced the Houston All-Stars, Kluss leading with 12 points, and Brown contributing 18. No replacements were named immediately. The Sabres’ next scheduled game is in Buffalo Thursday gainst Los Angeles Kings. Imlach, 60, has been general manager of the club since it joined the NHL in 1970 and also coached the Sabres for the first two years. Pronovost, 48, was named coach in the summer of 1977. The Sabres have eight victories, 10 losses and six ties this season afier a pair of weekend losses to Montreal Canadiens, 8-1 in Montreal Saturday and 41 in Montreal Sunday. In Saturday’s 10:3 victory, Doug Richey and Simon Dodd each con- tributed hat tricks. Singles were scored by Jim Palahicky, Danny Fagan, Bruno Hidber and Ken Wideman. Greg Paulson scored twice in Sunday’s 5-3 win, Richey, Hidber and ‘Larry Swanson also scored. These wins by the Midgets pul them on top of their division, and they have two- mes in hand -- both against the winless Smithers Midgets. The Inland Kenworth Bantams continued to disappoint their fans who feel these boys have the best team in the bantam circuit. The Bantams dropped a $6 contest to Prince Prince Rupert .Friday night. Warren Riding and Mel Reimer each scored twice while Jeff Parr and Greg Robson had singles. In the Saturday game, Terrace blew a 5-0 lead and lost 6-5 to Rupert. Riding again scored twice. Glen Palahicky, Roger Tooms. and Robson rounded’ out their scoring. These two losses dropped the Bantams into the cellar of _ their division.
