Women, Art and the Periphery is a con-
temporary multimedia works exhibition by
13 Chilean women artists, which runs in
Vancouver until Dec. 19.

And Women in Focus, the sponsoring
organization, has brought to Vancouver
three of the artists as co-curators of their
Floating Curatorial Gallery. The gallery is
displaying oil paintings, photography, liter-
ature, spoken portraits, silkscreens and
videos which thrive despite the dictatorship
of Gen. Augusto Pinochet.

The artists’ work reflects the social and
economic context of Chile over the last 14
years. The full exhibition will be at Women
