December 10th, 1979. Mr. B. Montgomery, 2641 Tuohey Street, asked for clarification from the daveloper of approximately how many employees would be parking in the proposed development. Mr. J. McCormack, Architect, advised approximately 100 spaces would be designated for staff parking with the office tower having its own parking. The City Administrator advised a petition had been received from residents in the area of the proposed development requesting a street barricade at the Clayton Street — Tuchey Avenue intersection and Mayor Laking advised this would pe referred to the Public Works Committee for study. Alderman Keryluk suggested a "no right turn" sign be posted at the ‘exit onto Kitchener Street to keep the traffic flow going to the left onto Westwood Street. Mr. K. Shewfelt of Techram Securities Ltd., advised they are concerned with the traffic problem but that trucks making deliveries could not turn in the deveiopment and must use an exit onto Kitchener Avenue. Alderman Ranger stated he shared the concern of the residents regarding the traffic and suggested the buffer strip be decreased so trucks could turn within the development. Mr. L. Schmidt, 3468 Lancaster Street, asked the developer if the triangular piece of property at Lancaster Street and Lougheed Highway had been purchased as the trucks could be directed away from the residential area by incorporating that piece of Property into the development and Mr. Shewfelt advised they had not been successful as yet. | Mr. P. Arbuckle of Techram Securities Ltd. advised the access onto- ‘Kitchener Avenue. would be used mainly by trucks making deliveries travelling east from a westerly depot and that the trucks would have restricted hours to make deliveries. Mr. R. Jones, 3530 Hastings Street, asked for clarification of the problem the developer mentioned regarding soil conditions and Mayor Laking advised the study has been carried out and a solution has been worked out. Mr. G. Cooper, 2650 Tuohey Avenue, expressed concern regarding cars parking for extended periods in the residential area. Mayor Laking advised parking restrictions could be posted to eliminate a parking problem. Alderman Mabbett advised the Public Works Committee would be studying the traffic patterns and the parking for the proposed development further.
