SUBJECT: REQUEST FOR FENCING ALONG FRONT PROPERTY AT 1240 PITT RIVER
RD.

RECOMMENDATION:

Install approx. 6 reflectorized posts at 1.5m intervals for a distance of 10.5m along the asphalt
portion at the front of the property at 1240 Pitt River Rd. at a cost of approx. $400.

The owner of the property at 1246 Pitt River Rd. has requested, through the Operations
Manager, that the City install 27 metres of chainlink fence along the front of his property to
prevent cars from entering his property and causing damage. The owner, Mr. Noort, feels that
there have been many accidents at this location caused by the cars failing tu negotiate the curve
in the road just north of his property.

Attached is a memo from Gord Voncina suggesting that the Public Works Commitiee consider
his solutions to this problem. I agree with his recommendation to install reflectorized posts
along the front of 1240 Pitt River Rd. and to advise Mr. Noort of his option for damage claim
with ICBC.

COSTS:
Cost of 6 reflectorized posts @ $60/post= $360.00
