THE CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF PORT COQUITLAM C ยข UJ NV C MEMORANDUM AUG 11 1980 Mayor & Council August 11, 1980 F.E. Peters, City Engineer Additional Sprinkling Regulations, Mary Hill As you know, last year we were forced to impose special sprinkling regulations during the summer because of the high demand for water in the Mary Hill area. This year there nas been no difficulty of supply up to this point because the weather has been relatively cool. Howeve-, over the weekend pressures dropped as low as 25 pounds and it appears that the hot spell will be continuing for a few days yet. Our new 18-inch watermain being placed on Eastern Drive will be several weeks to completion and in the mean- time, on the advice of the Mayor, I would request that Council once again impose the special sprinkling regulations for the Mary Hill area only until such time as the new watermain can be put into Service. I therefore recommend _that Council approve the following sprinkling regulations: "Effective immediately and until further notice, sprinkling of lawns is prohibited between the hours of 3:00 Pem. and 11:00 p.m. on all days in the area commonly known as Mary Hill, bounded by Mary Hill Road on the west and by Pitt River Road on the north and east. At all other hours the current odd/even schedules continue to apply." If Council approves this resolution, it would be our intention to have it announced on the Public Information radio stations and to insert ads in the local papers at the first available opportunity. ay {RTM tk amet Sea. oe ; / F.E.
