Re: Regional Housing JUL 3 1972

Some time ago the Director of Housing for the Greater Vancouver Regional

Board appeared before our Council to discuss the various concepts on Regional
Housing.

The majority of municipalities in the District have now indicated their
‘willingness to be included in a housing program to be implemented by the G.V.R.D.
upon final receipt of the requisite Federal and Provincial approvals.

i recommend that Port Coquitlam advise the G.V.R.D. of their willingness
to be included in the regional housing program,

I would emphasize that this is in no way a “blanket approval" and merely
‘allows the Housing Director and his staff to commence planning for the area.

The number, type and location of units in Port Coquitlam would be subject
to further approval by Council prior to the finalization c® plans by the G.V.R.D. .
