THE CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF PORT COQUITLAM BYLAW NO. A Bylaw to Amend the “Port Coquitlam Building and Plumbing Bylaw, 1991, No. 2568". The Municipal Council of the Corporation of the City of Port Coquitlam, in open meeting assembled, enacts as follows: 1. Section 1 of the "Port Coquitlam Building and Plumbing Bylaw, 1991,. No. 2568" is amended by inserting, in correct alphabetical order, the following definitions: € "addition" means any alteration to a building which increases the floor area of the building, and includes the linkage of two or more buildings by openings providing access between buildings. “Alteration” means any repair, renovation, or modification of: the construction or arrangement of any building, structure or occupancy regulated under this Bylaw. "Assesse: Value” means the most recent assessed value of a building as determined by the Assessment Authority of British Columbia, “Construction Value” means the value of construction ascertained from the most recent ‘Marshall Valuation Services’ publication with the current: cost multipliers applicable to the City of Port Coquitlam area, or a4 construction valuation calculation accepted as an equivalent by the Director of Building Permits and Inspections. is “Bloor Area” means the total area of all floors in all storeys of a building, measured within the inside surface of the exterior walls of the building, including basements, cellars, and the area occupied by interior walls and partitions; but excluding stairwells and elevator shafts. oo Section 13 of the Bylaw is amended by repealing Sections 13.2, 13.3, and 13.4 and enacting the following provisions in their place: "13.2 Within the fire limit areas, fire sprinklers shall be installed in all industrial, commercial, institutional and multi-family residential buildings constructed, added to or altered, pursuant to a building permit application made after February 18, 1991. ©... Where Section 13.2 requires installation of a fire sprinkler system, the entire building shall be provided with a fire sprinkler system in accordance with the National Fire Protection Association and the Building Code standards for the installation of fire sprinklers.
