Prior to the question being called on the foregoing resolution Alderman Thompson asked the City Adminiscrator if the City carries adequate protection in case of damage resulting from the low-flying aircraft and the City Administrator replied the contract for spraying is arranged by the G.V.R.D. Alderman Laking asked that the City Solicitor look into the City's liability coverage prior to giving permission for aerial spray for mosquito control. Moved by Alderman Traboulay: Seconded by Alderman Keryluk: That the request that Council pass a resolution waiving the Department of Transport Air Regulations to permit aerial spray for mosquito control be deferred. Rates, commercial and/or industrial operations should have metered water rates Agricultural Area. but: that agricultural properties should have a flat water rate of: properties one acré or less - $4.75 per month; properties over one acre ~ $5.25 per month. Alderman Ranger voted against the resolution. Prior to passage of the foregoing resolution a general discussion ensued and Alderman Ranger pointed out that farming and greenhouses are a business and should be billed fer water on a metered basis. Alderman Ranger asked that all connections in the agricultural area be monitored and Alderman Traboulay advised the Pubite Works Committee will lesk after getting this done. Alderman Mabbett advised thai the flat rate would be for 1/2" or 3/4" lines only as the larger lines are automatically om meter.
