Public Works Report (Con't) June 22nd, 1972, Item IV Res Mary Hill Row Housing. Recommendation: The Committee has received a large number of inquiries and complaints from residents of the Mary Hill Row Housing Area concerning traffic speeding and parking problems. The Committee has discus- eed these on # number of occasions and recommends as follows: {a) Speed Control Bumps. The Committee recommends strongly against the installation of speed control bumps. (b>) Speed Limit Signs. Although Rose, Una, and Tina are classified as Lanes the speed limit on these Lanes, because they are greater than 20 feet in width is 30 m.p.h. The Committee recommends that Rose, Una and Tina be posted at 15m.p-h. Parking. When cars are parked on both sides of Rose, Una, and Tina there is insufficient space remaining for the passage of emergency vehicles, Actually because Rose, Una and Tina are clas« sified as lanes, there is according to the Traffic By-law, no parking permitted although thie has not been enforced. The Committee recommends that parking be permitted on the east side of Una, on the east side of Tina and on the north and west sides of Rose. Tae Committee further recommends that No Parking be posted on the other sides of Una, Tina and Rose. Parking for Residents Only Signs. Requests for this type of sign have been considered by the Committee and by Council and have been turned down. The Com _ mittee recommends that the request for "Parking For Residents Only" signs be not approved.
