BRANCH #73, of the BC. Old Age
Pensioners held their regular monthly mem-
bership meeting Oct. 10, in the Happy
Gang Centre with the president, Hugh
Power in the chair and 49 members at-
tended.

A very successful anniversary supper was
held Sept. 13, at which Corbin King
showed his pictures of the Yukon, A thank
you was extended to Mr. King for this ser-

. -¥ice.

Several activitles for October & Novem-
ber were brought to the attention of the
members, Members were invited to sign up
to altend the Hallawe’en pot luck suppers,
Oct, 30 and to join in a costume parade, It
-was decided any member not in costume at
‘this event would be charged a fine.

: In observance of 1996 Remembrance Day
_a motion was made to purchase a wreath
‘and to also provide refreshments at the
-Centre for ihe youngsters who participate in
‘the Nov, 11 parade.

: A games night to be held at 7:30 pm on
Oct, 21 in the centre, is being arranged.

-members’ Christmas dinner was set for De-
‘cember 18 with the Canadian Legion auxil-
Jiarly doing the catering,

- Reports from various committees were
heard. The kitchen & supplies committees
yeported all is well. The maintenance com-
‘miltce reported on installation of a new

furnace and repairs to hot water heaters,
Muriel Michiel and her committee visited
our sick members.

Preparations for the Fall bazaar, to be
held November 16, are going well.

The nominations committee is busy seck-
ing members willing to let their names
stand for the 1997 slate of officers.

Vera McKenzie, co-ordinator of the vari-
ous games activilies, reviewed the weekly
games program as follows:

Each Tuesday & Thursday, 8:45 to 9:45,
the Tai Chi Exercises are held. Tuesday
from 10 am to nooa, is floor Curling (more
curlers would be most welcome). Then
Tuesday at 7:30 pm members participate in
Crib Games,

Wednesday, al 1 pm, carpet bowling is
held and men’s snooker is at 7 pm.

On Thursday, bridge is played upstairs
and floor curling downstairs - commencing
ati pm.

Ladies’ snooker is at 7 pm on Friday and
at 2 pm it is members’ bingo.

Regarding the Northem B.C. Winter
Games, to be held in Terrace in February,
Vera asked that members interested in sign-
ing up to play crib be sure to register by
December 15,

The meeting ended with delicious refresh-
ments and a social hour,

Next meeting will be held November 14
at 2 pm, in the Happy Gang Centre.
