DISCUSSION:

By referring this project to a Public Information Meeting, Council gave
notice that, prior to discuss this Official Community Plan Amendment
Council wanted input from the area residents.

The message from the Public Information Meeting was very clear; There was
no support from the residents to the development of this project.

The reasons given by the residents to oppose the project varied from their
concerns to have further townhouse developments in their neighborhood,
therefore sacrificing the single family character that currently exists,
to concerns regarding the additional traffic and parking problems that
this particular development may generate.

Since Council had requested a Public Information Meeting to have the

input from local residents prior to making a decision on this project,
and in consideration of the strong negative input received, it is
recommended that this application for Official Community Plan and Rezoning
be denied.
