Jail nv’ Baill helps catch crooks DON’T BE surprised to see friends and co-workers hauled off to jail this Friday. The handcuffs are real, but the charges are entirely fictitious as the RCMP and Crimestoppers gear up for their annual fundraising ‘‘Jail n’ Bail’’ to help kick off Riverboat Days. Between noon and 3 p.m. Fri- day, police will be scouring the city looking for the most hard- ened criminal types wanted for heinous activities like: failing to make a new pot of coffee after taking the last cup, wearing dangerously ugly ties, stealing parking spots and sneaking too many smoke breaks. Crimestoppers is waiting to receive ‘‘complainis’' like these from local businesses about em- ployees and co-workers. Police will be scouring the city looking for hard- ened criminals wanted for heinous activities like wearing dangerously ugly ties. Police will pick up and charge perpetrators, then lock them in a makeshift jail along the sidewalk of 4700 block Lakelse Avenue. A judge will be on hand to set bail for each individual —- which by some strange coin- cidence will be exactly . the same amount that co-workers have managed to raise for Ter- race Crimestoppers, Culprits will then be released, rewarded with a Crimestoppers cofice mug for being good sports, and given a free ride back to work, , The previous two events proved to be lots of fun and big successes for the organization.
