PC Meeting November 9, 1993 Cont'd Additional] Comments: At The Public Hearing there were also a number of suggestions where no action is recommended at this time. Some of these will be further studied br the Planning Department and may result in “Council Initiative Amendments to the Plan"; additional Public Hearings would be needed: 1. Request to change the designation of the south side of Pitt River Road between Shaughnessy Street and Mary Hill Road from single family to multi-family. Request to designate the foot of Pitt River Road in the "Marine Traditional" designation as “Park" to indicate potential future access t- the river. Reduce the amount of commercially designated land in the Northside Centre and increase the amount of multi-family land. -Add more commercial designated properties at the Pitt River Road and Mary Hill Bypass intersection. Designate all of the Northeast Sector as "Urban Reserve". Change the "Special Study Area" designation of Colony Farm. Change the designation of several parks in the City. Remove the arterial road designation from Apel Drive. (This request will be forwarded to the Engineering Department for an appropriate technical evaluation). DISCUSSION: The review process of the 0.C.P. has now been completed. The Public Hearing indicated general support for the Plan and most suggested changes are of minor nature and can be incorporated into the final document. Dissenting opinions, which were minimal, did not concerm teckiical aspects of the 0.C.P. Completion of the 0.C.P. will allow the City to receive Provincial grant funding and begin the process of policy implementation. It is therefore recommended that the attached text amendments be approved and that Official Community Plan Bylaw # 2848 be given Third Reading. ‘ td Carlos Feli €h., M.C.I.P.
