It is hoped that a further HHW +” collection drive can be avoided by timely implementation or a permanent 0 eh. system. It is proposed that one of the collection days will be held in: >: early summer and the remainder in the fall. It is further proposed that the collection days be sited to service logical groupings of municipalities as follows: North Shore, Bower Island and Lions Bay Burnaby and New Westminster Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, Anmore, Ioco and Belcarra Richmond, Delta, and White Rock Surrey and the Langleys Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows Matsqui and Abbotsford. The G.V.R.D. is asking for your council’s endorsement of and participation in the program. In order to plan and carry out the program, we would ask that you identify your municipality’s contact person as soon as possible. The provincial government has committed to paying the cost of transportation and disposal of the collected wastes to be carried out by a hazardous waste contractor and to share in the advertising and promotional costs.
