dated the day of September, 1979 between The Corporation of The City of
Port Coquitlam and The Port Coquitlam Fire Fighters! Association, Local 1941,

SCHEDULE "A!

COST_OF LIVING ALLOWANCE

Commencing on 1980 January O1 and terminating on 1980 December 31, all employees
will become entitled to Cost of Living Allowance payments (hereinafter called
"COLA payments") on the following basis and subject to the following conditions?

{a] These COLA payments will be based on the Consumer Price Index for Canada
(ALL Items) as published by Statistics Canada (1971 = 100.0), and the
reference figure for all calculations shall be the December, 1979 figure
which is due to be published on or about 1960 January 22,

For reference purposes the January 1980 Index shall be deemed to be the
figure which is due to be published on or about 1980 February 15, and the
Index figures for the remainder of 1980 shall be deemed to be. those which
are due to be published on or about the following dates:

As soon as possible after each Index figure listed in paragraph [b] herein
has been published, e.g., 1980 July 15, the parties will calculate the per~
centage increase in the above-mentioned Index between the said December 1979
figure and that particular month's figure, ¢.g., June 1980. If such percen-
tage increase exceeds seven and one-half per cent (73%), then, for each full
one percent (1%) increase in excess of seven and one-half per cent (74%), the
COLA payment to which each employee shall be entitled shall be five cents (S¢)
applicable to each hour for which the employee was in receipt of compensation
from any one or more of the sources listed in paragraph [h] herein, during the
month in which the Index figure was published, e.g, July 1980.

The first possible entitlement to COLA payments shall be with respect to the
month of February 1980, and the last’ possible entitlement shall be with

respect to the month of December 1980.

Subject to the provisions contained in paragraph [g] herein, any COLA payment
which comes into effect on 1980 December 01, shall be terminated on 1980

December 31. .

Arrangements shall be made by each individual Employer with a view to making
payment of any COLA entitiements as soon as administratively possible following
calculation of any amounts payable, and in the most convenicnt possible forn.
