A regular meeting of the Municipal Council of the Corporation of the City of Port
Coquitlam was held in the Council Chambers, Port Coquitlam City Hall, 2580 Shaughnessy
Street, Port Coquitlam, BC on Moiday, January 17th, 1994, at 7:30 pm.

Mayor L.M. Traboulay and Councillors M.D. Gates, M.J. Gordon, J.J. Keryluk, W.W.
Stewart, R.H. Talbot, and M.A. Thompson were in attendance.

Also in attendance were City Administrator B.R. Kirk, City Clerk S. Rauh, City
Treasurer/Deputy Administrator, J.G.S. Maitland, City Engineer I.R. Zahynacz, City Planner C.
Felip, Director of Building Permits and Inspections J. Shardlow, Deputy City Engineer J. Yip,
Fire Chief J. Baillie, Deputy Fire Chief G. Routley, Personnel Director V.J. van Meel, Deputy
Treasurer/Collector J.E. Fraser, Persormel Assistant M.J. Larter.

SPECIAL PRESENTATIONS:

His Worship Mayor L.M. Traboulay introduced Valerie van Meel, City of Port Coquitlam
Personnel Director on her 25th year with the City. His Worship made a presentation of a
bouquet of flowers and a Port Coquitlam pin.

CONFIRMATION OF MINUTES:

Moved by Councillor Keryluk:
Seconded by Councillor Stewart;

That the minutes of the Regular Council Meeting of January 10th, 1994 be taken as read
and adopted.

Carried.

DELEGATION:

His Worship Mayor L.M. Traboulay introduced Ken Cameron, Manager, David Baxter and
Paui Lee representative of the GVRD Strategic Planning Section regarding GVRD Livable
Region Strategy and Transpcrtation Plan. Mr. Cameron gave a presentation on the
establishment procedures for the adoption of a Regional Strategic Plan for the Greater
Vancouver Regional District.

UNEINISHED BUSINESS:

From the Treasurer/Deputy Administrator, December 24, 1993 regarding Works Yard/Fire
Hall Project.

Moved by Councillor Gates:
Seconded by Councillor Thompson:

That the contract for construction of the Works Yard/Fire Hall project be let to Swagger
Construction Ltd. at the tendered price of $6,738,000.

Carried,
Councillor Keryluk voted
against the resolution.
