COUNCIL MAR - 1 1993 THE CORPORATION OF THE REPORT TO COUNCIL CITY OF PORT COQUITLAM MEMORANDUM February 24, 1993 TO: B.R. Kirk, City Administrator FROM: Janna Taylor, Parks & Recreation Director SUBJECT: McLean Park Recommendation 1) To build a fourth diamond at McLean Park. 2) That the cost of $10,000 be taken from Park D.C.C. interest. Background & Comments During the past year, PCAAA has approached our department and the Parks and Recreation Committee to investigate the possibility of building a fourth diamond at McLean Park. The diamond would be located in the southeast corner. The diamond would be a small diamond and would be used for the younger children in baseball and softball. The outfield would be approximately 170 feet. The cost for the diamond would be $10,000 and this money would be taken from Park D.C.C. interest. One of the reasons to construct this diamond is that Minor Softball is growing rapidly, as is slowpitch. The other reason is that we are losing two diamonds this season at Viscount Elementary because of the school expansion. There are sufficient funds available in the Park D.C.C. Interest Fund.
