Genstar Development Company Mr. Keds Smith, P.Eng. 1987 06 30 Page 2 Route B Route B has some similarity to Route A. Three ducts would be installed along Citadel Drive as in Route A. However, the eastward crossing of the vacant parcel would be by overhead lines mounted on poles. When the road pattern for the vacant parcel becomes known and the parcel is developed, underground ducts and wiring would be installed and the overhead lines dismantled. A working easement of 16 metres is anticipated for the overhead system. To minimize costs, clearing debris would be left windrowed on site for burning or disposal when the parcel is developed. Route C Route C provides for three 75 mm ducts from the intersection of Carmel Avenue and Pitt River Road along Carmel Avenue and Saskatchewan Avenue to the pump station. This route would traverse an already builtup area. The three ducts would have to be carefully installed parallel to an existing energized 12,000 volt line contained in a 75 mm duct. The completed installation would be of a permanent nature. We have conferred with Mr. R. Balfour of B.C. Hydro in respect to their charges for Routes A, 8 and C and with H.B. Construction Inc. for the cost of civil works needed to impiement each alternative. The costs are estimated as follows: Route A B.C.
