From the City Clerk, January 29th, 1980 advising of the proposed Union of British Columbia Municipalities resolution regarding election expenses. Moved by Alderman Mabbett: Seconded by Alderman Keryluk: That the Government of Canada be requested to amend the appropriate Income Tax Legislation or Regulatlons in order that election campaign expenses incurred by candidates for Municipal Office may be deducted from income prior to calculation of Income Tax payable; AND THAT the sald deduction be permitted without limte or, alternatively, limited to a realistic amount determined by the Federal Authorities.
