OUNE TO: Mayor and Aldermen “October 18th, 1978 FROM: Leisure Activities Committee Re: "Park Dedication By-law, 1978, No. 1629" Council will recall that the above noted By-law received first Two Readings on October 10th, 1978 and it was planned, at that time, to place the By-law before the Council for Third Reading at this evening's Council Meeting, October 23rd, 1978. This matter has, however, been again considered by the Leisure Activities Committee and in view of the uncertainty that arises respecting the imposition of the Development Cest Charges for the provision of open space pursuant to the recent amendments to the Municipal Act, the Committee is recommending that the By-law be simply left in abeyance at this time. There are additional park sites in the City that could not be included in By-law 1629 for various technical reasons and after the Development Cost Charge question has been settled, the Committee hopes to present a more comprehensive By-law next year including all remaining undedicated park sites in the City. A resolution of Council instructing the Clerk not to proceed with the further process of By-law No. 1629 at this time would be appreciated. AQQ An ptr ‘ City Clerk ~
